Speech Pathologist
Speech Therapy - Inpatient
PRN / Per Diem - Days - 8 Hours/Week

Primary Function:
Under the general direction of the Speech Pathology Manager, the Speech Pathologist evaluates patients, determines goals, administers therapy and makes recommendations for management of patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorders. Patients treated may range in age from infancy through late adulthood. In cooperation with the Rehabilitation team, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for maintaining high standards as established by the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This position reports to the Speech Pathology Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Training: Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college or university. Supervised clinical practicum. Completed ASHA Clinical Fellowship Year. Passed National Examination of American Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: 1+ years of direct clinical experience in evaluation and treatment of patients ranging from newborn through geriatric with communication and swallowing disorders required.
  • License, Certification & Registration: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Licensure in Speech Pathology by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to have good working relationship with patients, families, physicians and healthcare team members. Good communication skills and professional presentation.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
