Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Office Manager, Medical Office Coordinator or physicians, the Scheduler II independently coordinates surgical scheduling for the patients in the AHP practices. The Scheduler II is responsible for timely, efficient and well-coordinated scheduling with the patient, the attending physician's and surgical consultants' schedules, AHP practice schedule, the operating room and/or delivery room and PAT. Provides service to patients of all ages.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of medical office experience required.
  • Scheduling surgeries for busy neurological surgical specialty practices. Additionally, will be a backup for front desk.
  • Neurological and /or surgical OR scheduling experience strongly preferred, as well as experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • High school diploma or equivalent essential. Associate's degree or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology/charging and physician scheduling, team-oriented working with multiple healthcare professionals, and excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Since this practice has multiple locations, a driver’s license and current auto insurance with proof of coverage required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Abington Health’s auto insurance policy. Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the manager, department head or Human Resources department.
