Registrar Technician
Maternal Child Float Pool
Part-Time - 7:30am-4:30pm - Days - 30 Hours/Week
Abington Hospital - Jefferson Health
1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001
Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Nurse Practitioner, the Registrar Technician performs registrar and reception duties, including data entry into the hospital information system, and supports departmental operations. Performs limited direct patient activities for the neonatal patient population, which ranges from newborn through adulthood.

Qualifications

Education and Training:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Knowledge of office billing and insurance preferred.
  • Clerical and medical terminology experience preferred.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Good typing skills required.
  • OB/gyn office experience a plus.

Licensure, Certification & Registration Requirements:
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.

Other Requirements:
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
