Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Office Manager/Coordinator, performs reception, clerical and data entry duties to facilitate and provide quality patient care in an outpatient setting. May communicate with patients ranging in age from 0 to 100+.
  • Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make AH the hospital of choice for patients and employees.
  • Maintains fiscal integrity by either collecting and recording charges and payments in computer or posting payments in computer. Reconciles day sheet and totals monies collected to ensure appropriate payments are received and data collection/statistical information is accurate. Runs end-of-day reports as appropriate.
  • Uses good guest relations and telecommunication skills to greet, check in and checkout patients to gather accurate demographic and insurance information for processing of patient visits.
  • Facilitates the HMO referral process to maintain compliance with managed care guidelines.
  • Uses good communication skills (verbal and written) to prioritize and relay pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
  • Performs clerical duties using good organizational skills to service the needs of the patients/staff/physicians and others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2 years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • License, Certification & Registration: Achieve Healthcare Provider CPR Certification from the American Heart Association prior to employment and maintain certification thereafter. As of July 1, 2011, a valid driver's license is required for practices with multiple offices.
  • Other Requirements: Professional conduct and appearance, interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and good phone and computer skills. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
