Responsibilities:
Under general direction of the Senior Director of Public Relations and Marketing, serves as a public relations and marketing generalist, providing support for a wide array of departmental functions. Writing and Content Development: Conducts interviews, gathers facts, writes, fact-checks and proofreads communications for internal and external audiences. Media Relations: Writes and distributes press releases and seeks positive news coverage for organization; handles basic media requests in a timely fashion and serves as escort to media as appropriate; and serves as a Cision super user to distribute press releases and track media coverage. Social Media: Develops social media campaigns and maintains Abington – Jefferson Health Facebook page, Twitter account, YouTube channel and emerging social media under direction of Senior Director of Public Relations and Marketing; tracks social media daily. Manages office operations, such as ordering supplies, ensuring printers are working, processing bills, tracking budget, scheduling meetings and answering phones. Provides support to PR/M Vice President and Senior Director. Back-up to Special Event Planning.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in the field of public relations and marketing (internship experience considered); healthcare preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Communications or Marketing required.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
