Physician insurance payer credentialing experience needed.

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Manager–  Revenue Cycle, this position is responsible for the enrollment, insurance credentialing and re-credentialing of all physicians employed or contracted with Abington – Jefferson Health Physicians. In addition, the Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the enrollment of all advanced practice practitioners (APP) for each practice and location. This position completes all necessary carrier requirements in a timely manner to ensure the provider will be reimbursed for all services rendered.

Essential Functions:
  • Completes all necessary information and coordinates the credentialing and enrollment process on behalf of physicians and advanced practice professionals billing under the Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health (AH) tax ID number in a timely manner. Monitors all provider numbers as assigned and notifies appropriate staff as participating status is obtained.
  • Responsible for all re-credentailing for all insurance carriers, which need to completed according to carrier requirements.
  • Handles all address corrections and lockbox changes for Physician Network.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining CAQH system for all employed physicians.
  • Creates and maintains provider identification database. Maintains neat and organized provider files with copies of all documents sent with applications.
  • Fosters relationships with insurance carrier representatives in order to facilitate provider enrollment and credentialing.
  • Reviews Credentialing Department's provider files for accuracy on a scheduled basis.
  • Coordinates assignment account additions and deletions.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent; some college or equivalent work preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a large physician network environment.
  • Must be proficient in reading and understand third-party remittance advice.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and knowledge of various PM systems.
  • Must have a good understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
