Patient Care Coordinator
Bloodless Surgery Program
Part-Time (0.48 FTE) - 8am-4:30pm - Days with Occasional Evenings & Weekends - 19 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:
The Patient Care Coordinator will report to the Administrative Director of the Center for Bloodless Medicine & Surgery (CBMS) at Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health (AJH) when providing services to patients at the hospital’s main campus and any affiliated hospitals or surgical centers. The Patient Care Coordinator will serve as advocate, educator, facilitator and guide for patients who are moving through the various diagnostic and treatment processes at AJH. This support includes, but is not limited to, program enrollment, education, patient rounds, participation in CBMS community seminars, maintenance of census reports and statistics records, data analysis, interdepartmental and intradepartmental needs, and provision of support services to all affiliated hospitals who have chosen to extend bloodless care to their patients.

Qualifications:
  • Clinical knowledge of CBMS management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling non-blood medical management issues.
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in business or medical field preferred.
  • Knowledge of personal computer.
  • Ability to discuss current non-blood strategies.
  • Knowledge of legal/ethical/social aspects of non-blood management.
  • Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses sound judgment and objectivity in making decisions.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is able to function independently, as well as interdependently.
