Patient Access Training Coordinator
Patient Registration - Satellite
Full-Time - 8am-4:30pm - Days, Monday-Friday with Occasional Evening or Weekend Rotation depending on Training Needs - 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Patient Access, the Patient Access Training Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive planning, development, implementation and quality assurance of a formal Patient Access Training Program. In addition, supports, guides and coordinates end-user training sessions. Maintains a high level of awareness in the field of patient access and education.
  • Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for patients and employees.
  • Maintains collaborative interfaces with Patient Access Management, ETC, Business Services, Case Management, CIS and HIS, as well as the ancillary and professional staff, to facilitate the ongoing training needs of registration staff and their managers throughout the hospital.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of registration training policies and procedures, and ensures accordance with Abington Memorial Hospital, state and federal guidelines and procedures.
  • Plans and conducts quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with established registration practices and new policies and to keep staff aware of current changes and standards.
  • Prepares reports and analyses to include staff productivity, quality of registration performance with the goal of identifying adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations for improvement and/or identifying positive trends with appropriate recommendations for reward and recognition.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in various positions within healthcare in the Patient Access and/or Patient Accounting departments.
  • Management and/or teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Extensive computer skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of insurance, coding and clinical orders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional interaction experience with multiple allied healthcare professionals.
