Under the clinical direction of the Chairman, Department of Medicine, the CRNP is responsible for the on-site coverage of inpatients who are admitted to non-house staff-covered services. Admissions include the General Medicine Floors and non-assigned critical care patients admitted and held in the Emergency Trauma Center. Primary responsibility for those patients will remain with the community-based or hospital physician. The CRNP diagnoses medical conditions, plans and implements interventions, and evaluates patient responses in collaboration with the attending physician for patients ranging in age from adulthood through late adulthood.
Conditions of Employment:
3+ years of general medical nursing experience.
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and certificate from Nurse Practitioner program or Master's degree in Physician Assistant program is required.
Valid and current licensure as a CRNP or PA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.
Pursues learning opportunities in order to maintain certification.
Valid driver's licensure and auto insurance required. This position follows the driving policy of Abington – Jefferson Health which requires one to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Abington – Jefferson Health's auto insurance policy.
Maintains good communication with hospital personnel and physicians regarding issues of practice and role.
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
