Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Respiratory Therapist
Respiratory - Cardiopulmonary
Casual - Evenings - 4 Hours/Week

Primary Function:
Performs/evaluates diagnostic testing to evaluate the presence and extent of pulmonary dysfunction and provides therapeutic treatment for pulmonary disease for patients under 1 year of age. All testing and treatment are performed under direct supervision of Manager, Respiratory Therapy Services or Respiratory Supervisor and NICU RT Coordinator.

  • Education & Training: Graduate of a CoArc-approved respiratory school, neonatal resuscitation program, AS degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory care or graduate of an approved respiratory school within the previous 12 months. 1 year of neonatal critical care experience preferred.
  • License, Certification & Registration: Registered Respiratory Therapist, current Pennsylvania state license, neonatal practice specialty preferred. Valid driver's license.
  • Other Requirements: Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Abington Health's auto insurance policy. Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the manager, department head or Human Resources department.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
