Medication Safety Officer
Full-Time - 8am-4:30pm - Days, Monday-Friday - 40 Hours/Week

The Medication Safety Officer, in concert with medical staff, pharmacy staff, nursing staff and other pertinent healthcare providers, is responsible for guiding the design, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of safe medication systems within the hospital and health system. The Medication Safety Officer works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team, especially the Director of Pharmacy, other pharmacists, nursing staff, medical staff leadership and patient safety/QI leadership. The Medication Safety Officer works to assess medication use system processes to identify opportunities to improve medication use safety, review design solutions to system failures, and institute practice changes. The Medication Safety Officer is viewed as the organizational leader in investigating, implementing and monitoring medication safety initiatives.
Advanced training in medication safety preferred.
Minimum two years of clinical pharmacy experience required.
Doctor of Pharmacy required.
PA Pharmacy License required.
Excellent verbal communication skills and proficiency in MS Office suite.
PGY-1 residency preferred or ISMP fellowship-trained.
