Medical Assistant
Physician Practice Administration
Full-Time - 8am-7pm - Days, Various Locations & Practices, Occasional Evenings - 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager and under the general supervision of the Office Manager/Office Coordinator/physician, the Medical Assistant Network Pool travels to work sites as assigned within the Jefferson Community Physician (JCP) network and provides clinical care to patients in the physician’s office. Patient population ranges from infancy through late adulthood.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able and willing to travel on a daily basis.
  • Must have 1 year of medical office experience and can draw blood.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required, if not certified as a Medical Assistant. 1 year in venipuncture preferred.
  • Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from a Medical Office Assistant program required (would also consider a graduate from a practical nursing program).
  • License, Certification & Registration: Achieve Healthcare Provider CPR Certification from the American Heart Association prior to employment and maintain certification thereafter. Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Other Requirements: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with medical office procedures. Ability to travel to practice locations. Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Abington – Jefferson Health’s auto insurance policy. Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the manager, department head or Human Resources department.
