This position will float between 2 locations: Abington office in Levy Plaza and Warrington office at 1380 Easton Road, Warrington, PA.
Under the general supervision of the Office Manager/physician, provides clinical care to patients in the physician's office. Provides care to patients ranging in age from 0 to 100+. Screens patient telephone calls regarding medical problems. Prioritizes and relays appropriate information to patients, staff and physicians to ensure the appropriate interaction and departmental flow between patients, physicians and staff. Performs medication reconciliation and pre-visit planning and enters standard orders. Assists physicians with examinations and various diagnostic procedures, and performs EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients. Initiates and performs patient education and maintain materials and organizes and generates recall system to ensure patient adherence to physician protocol and to ensure patients are provided high-quality services.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required, if not certified as a Medical Assistant. 1 year in venipuncture preferred.
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from a Medical Assistant program required (would also consider a graduate from a practical nursing program).
License, Certification & Registration: Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred. Achieve Healthcare Provider CPR Certification from the American Heart Association prior to employment and maintain certification thereafter. Licensure as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required, if LPN. Valid driver’s license is required for practices with multiple sites.
Other Requirements: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with medical office procedures. For practices with multiple locations, ability to travel to practice locations.
