Medical Assistant
Abington OB/GYN Associates
Full-Time - Days - 40 Hours/Week
Abington OB/GYN Associates - Horsham

Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Office Manager/Office Coordinator/physician, provides clinical care to patients in the physician's office. Provides care to patients ranging in age from 0 to 100+.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2-3 years of medical office experience strongly preferred. 1 year in venipuncture preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from a Medical Office Assistant program required (would also consider a graduate from a practical nursing program).
  • License, Certification & Registration: Certification in Medical Office Assistant required within 2 months (introductory period) of employment or transfer (or Pennsylvania LPN licensure required and must be maintained). Achieve Healthcare Provider CPR Certification from the American Heart Association – Healthcare Provider prior to employment and maintain certification thereafter. As of July 1, 2011, a valid driver's license is required for practices with multiple sites.
  • Other Requirements: Must complete a clinical practicum during MOA program. Must meet requirements of PA Act 73 regarding child abuse clearance, if applicable to practice. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
