Under the direction of the Radiology Manager, performs diagnostic MRI exams/procedures, ensuring all MRI safety guidelines are adhered to as recommended by the American College of Radiology. May provide patient care to patients ranging in age from infancy to late adulthood.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for patients and employees.
Performs MRI exams/procedures while providing quality patient care and diagnostic quality images for interpretation.
Ensures appropriate documentation of patients' exams utilizing hospital computers systems and patient charts and/or hospital/radiology information systems (RIS) and PACS systems.
Performs all duties while maintaining safety procedures for magnetic resonance safety and compliance with all regulatory agencies for the protection of personnel and patients.
Professionally participates in the training/education of orientees/radiologic technology students to provide a supportive and positive learning experience.
Participates in department initiatives and activities to ensure quality services are provided in a cost-effective manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment:
Experience: 1-2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited MRI school required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
License, Certification & Registration: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be MRI board-eligible; board certification required within 6 months of hire.
Other Requirements: Excellent communication and team-oriented skills required.
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
