Financial Systems Coordinator, Revenue Cycle

Full-Time - 8am-4:30pm - Monday-Friday - 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:
With guidance from the Systems Manager, the Financial Systems Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive development, planning, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and coordination of projects related to Patient Accounts systems, as well as hospital initiatives. Provides system implementation assistance and training for Patient Access, Registration and Business Services areas. Develops comprehensive, integrated test plans, schedules and progress reports for implementation of new and existing systems in order to achieve successful outcomes and operability of the various systems supporting the Revenue Cycle. Evaluates results and makes recommendations for changes, instituting the appropriate and most efficient process. Facilitates user access and training for Patient Accounts staff (approximately 170 users) to ensure proficiency and effective use of PCs and systems supporting the revenue cycle functions (approximately 30 different applications). Supports staff on a daily basis to troubleshoot and resolve user difficulties.

Qualifications:
  • Position requires strong analytical skills, along with organized project management and the ability to lead small teams that will often include members outside of the Business Office.
  • Along with assigned daily tasks, this position requires strong communication with management staff on an almost daily basis.
  • Must be organized with a strong understanding of healthcare systems and project managment experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a hospital/physician automated billing environment.
  • 5 or more years of supervisory (or equivalent) experience in a position requiring the coordination of multiple tasks and projects involving other employees, vendors and/or insurance carriers.
  • Hands-on experience in systems implementation and project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or equivalent preferred (or commensurate experience in accounts receivable management).
  • CPAM or CPAT certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in personal computing and network systems applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements.
  • Advanced organizational and coordination skills for project management.
