Reporting to the Senior Director of Patient Access, the Director of Patient Access is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operational success of Patient Access at Abington Hospital, Lansdale Hospital and the Abington Health Physicians network associated with these hospitals. Identify state-of-the-art practices, enhancements to technology solutions, training programs, customer service and technical quality to continuously improve outcomes in productivity and quality. Responsible for the registration of over 1,200,000 patient visits annually. Critical responsibilities include achievement of annual and periodic goals for significant statistical indicators of Patient Access performance. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all governmental regulatory and other third-party payer requirements. Ensures leading practice results, process improvement and optimization to achieve best practices and positively impact customer service and Employee Engagement survey results that reflect the organization's goals.
5+ years of progressive patient access management and leadership experience with a strong background managing front-end patient access operations in a large multi-facility organization.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Health Administration or equivalent degree required; Master’s degree preferred (12+ years of progressive patient access management and leadership experience required, if no Master’s degree).
Demonstrated competency working with teams and ability to effectively communicate with all levels.
Demonstrated leadership in creating and implementing new processes.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Knowledge of various registration and billing/receivables information systems.
Demonstrated experience with quality and performance improvement techniques.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
