Crisis Intervention Clinician
Crisis Services
Relief - Rotating Shifts - 16 Hours/Week

Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Psychiatry and the Chairman, the Crisis Intervention Clinician is responsible for the initial psychological and psychosocial assessment of mental health patients in the Emergency Trauma Center and throughout the organization. He/she is responsible for patient placements and referrals in cooperation with the Emergency Trauma Center Unit staff and/or psychiatrist. The Crisis Intervention Clinician also works collaboratively with the professional nurse on the inpatient psychiatric unit. He/she provides services for patients ranging in age from infancy through late adulthood. The Crisis Intervention Clinician ensures the post-hospital or community mental health needs of the patient are met.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mental health field with crisis intervention experience.
  • Education and Training: BA or BS in Psychology or related field; Master's preferred.
  • License, Certification and Registration: Licensure in appropriate field preferred, but not required.
  • Other Requirements: CPR-certified – Course C (AHA). Ability to perform and document mental health status exam and psychiatric history. Crisis intervention skills. Strong communication and counseling skills.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
