Clinical Fellow
Speech Therapy - Outpatient
Full-Time - Days - 40 Hours/Week

Primary Function:
Under the general direction of the Speech Pathology Manager, the Speech Pathology Clinical Fellow evaluates patients, determines goals, administers therapy and makes recommendations for management of patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorders. Patients treated range from infancy through late adulthood. In cooperation with the Rehabilitation team, the Speech Pathology Clinical Fellow is responsible for maintaining high standards as established by the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Training: Master's degree in Speech Pathology from accredited college or university. Supervised clinical practicum. Passed National Examination of American Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: Successful completion of 350 clock hours of clinical practicum approved by ASHA.
  • License, Certification & Registration: Approved Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) plan by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Licensure eligibility in Speech Pathology by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania upon CFY completion.
  • Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to have good working relationship with patients, families, physicians and healthcare team members. Good communication skills. Professional presentation.

Conditions of Employment:
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
