Under the direction of the Associate of Director Nursing, the Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual services. The Chaplain is a minister/priest/rabbi who, on the basis of training, experience and interest, is knowledgeable about care of hospitalized patients/families. Chaplain provides care to patients of all ages.
Education & Training:
Master's degree in Divinity and/or a human services-related field required.
Clinical pastoral education or its equivalent required.
License, Certification & Registration:
1+ years of experience in home visitation of the sick or terminally ill required.
Member of American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) or its equivalent preferred.
Ability to express empathy.
Awareness of and availability to meet spiritual needs of patients.
Ability to exhibit warmth and compassion when dealing with clientele and staff.
Ability to show acceptance of client's attitudes and spirituality.
