Certified Coding Analyst
Coding and Reimbursement
Full-Time - Days - 40 Hours/Week

Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Coding Manager, the coding health data analyst is responsible for the assignment of codes to clinical information on emergency room records according to CPT-4 and/or ICD-9-CM Basic Coding Rules and Principles to support the development of a complete and accurate clinical and financial database.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1 year of coding experience in an acute care facility is required. Computer and encoder skills are preferred. Proficient in ICD-9-CM Basic Coding Rules and Principles, medical terminology and clinical medicine.
  • Education & Training: Graduate of program for Registered Records Administrator or Accredited Records Technician preferred; comparable experience (see above) is considered. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
  • License, Certification & Registration: CCA, CCS or CPC.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to interpret the informational content of the medical record. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Ability to work with interruption and maintain concentration and attention to detail. Knowledge of computers preferred.
