Behavioral Health Consultant (LCSW/PhD/PsyD)

Full-Time - 8am-4:30pm - Days, Monday-Friday - 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:
This position will provide behavioral health assessments, brief evidence-based interventions, clinical/consultative services and education using the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model for patients and their family in Jefferson primary care practices of varying specialties and within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in this role will also provide consultation with the primary care provider to enhance the understanding of the patient, provide decision support for teatment planning, and assist in the ongoing care and monitoring of patients' behavioral healthcare and biopsychosocial treatment plans. Ensures behavioral health services are delivered in a culturally appropriate fashion and are consistent with state laws and regulations, professional standards of care, agency guidelines and professional ethical guidelines.

Under the direction of the Administrative and Medical Directors, screens, evaluates and treats assigned patients to enable families, adults and/or children to function optimally in their daily lives. Serves patients in an integrated care capacity, ranging in age from toddler through late adulthood, as well as patients with mental retardation or emotional problems. Screens/evaluates/treats individuals or families who require assistance in daily living functioning to enable individuals/families to communicate more effectively and to cope more successfully with daily activities. Ensures competency in delivering mental health services to program's population(s).

Qualifications:
  • Travel to multiple sites required.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a mental health professional preferred.
  • Must meet state regulations for the specific program.
  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • LCSW required.
  • Professional licensure if available to specialty.
  • Act 73 clearance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Medicare PIN number (if applicable).
  • Maintain CEU credits as appropriate to specialty.
